When we first moved our here the trees and I were strangers. The only humans they'd seen had bulldozed a swathe thru their valley.
When I met them they were as imposing as they make themselves be, cold and distant. Assessing and watching because that is the way with trees.
So we lived our life as a family with kids and pets and houseplants in the yard.
Then one day I realized we weren't strangers any more.
As I lived my busy human life I had begun to put down roots. The trees accepted me and now my roots mingle with theirs in the earth , sharing energy and holding hands as we encounter and endure conditions above ground and in the air.
In the end it's just about love.
